Press with Safety Shutdown
In order to prevent hands from being pinched during the press-fitting work, a light curtain is installed as a safety device in front of the press-fitting machine so that the process is stopped in case of danger. With EleCylinder the machine stops in 0.1 seconds when the light curtain ist crossed.
Spot Welding Equipment
This process carries a pair of parts, and then does spot welding in 3 locations per part.
3-axes Inspection Application
The electric gripper grabs the workpiece, the linear actuator moves the workpiece under the inspection camera, and then the rotary actuator rotates the workpiece to inspect the other side. 12 points of the workpiece are inspected by the camera. If the workpiece is good, then it is dropped into the OK bin. If the workpiece is not acceptable, it is dropped into the NG (No Good) bin.
Test Assembly of Piston Pin
A retaining ring, called the circlip, is used to assemble the pin that connects the connecting rod and the piston of the engine parts.
Since the circlip is manually assembled, variations will occur. If the circlip is improperly seated in the groove, it becomes a problem in that it ends up falling off later.
The RocoCylinder RCP3-TA4R table type was adopted into an automatic inspection machine after the manual assembly which eliminated the circlip failure.
The circlip is now inspected for being at the correct position at the assembly stage. It can be double checked using the zone output signal and the position complete output signal to confirm whether the circlip is positioned within the tolerance range.
Deburring and testing workpieces
The NS series orthogonal multi-slider robot is used for deburring machine parts.
One of the two Y-axes is used to deburr the parts while the second axis is equipped with a camera to check if the deburring was successful.
Removal Of Foreign Substance
Single-axis robot ISA and rotary type RS for removing foreign substance adhering to automotive parts by air blow.
By adjusting the nozzle angle (spraying direction) of the work with two RS while synchronizing with the XSEL 4 axis controller, and by controlling the positional relationship between the work and the nozzle with the two ISAs, it became possible to blow out every corner of the work and to completely remove foreign substances.
Filling and Transfer of Battery Containers
A device for transferring containers filled with battery liquid. This device transfers battery containers under the dispenser and returns them to their original positions after filling.
Thickness Measurement with a Laser
A belt-like laser beam is radiated from a pair of laser measurement devices that are located top and bottom of an automobile part to measure the inner & outer diameters.
In this application, a reciprocating movement at a constant speed is needed. The EleCylinder is ideal because a 2-point positional setting is easy and it also comes with a built-in linear guide.
Welding Device for Steel Pipes
A mechanism in a welding device for steel pipes to move the welding torch at a constant speed. In the past, this work was done manually, causing uneven quality. By using an EleCylinder, the moving speed became constant, providing stable quality.
