New electrical grippers for small and large items
IAI is expanding the range of fully-programmable electrical grippers. New additions are a two-point lifting magnet gripper for small part assembly and a long-stroke gripper for large workpieces.
New Solenoid Gripper
The new two-point electromagnetic lifting gripper is available in two versions. The smaller version of the gripper can achieve maximum grip forces of 10 N and in the larger version, 20 N. Both variants have a stroke of 4 mm with inherent weights of 160 g and 270 g. These small electric grippers require only a cable for the power supply and the sensor signals, which makes installation in complex systems extremely simple and allows for very safe operation. The electric grippers open or close in just 0.03 seconds. These highly compact grippers can be used wherever small delicate parts require safe, energy-saving gripping and moving.
New Long-stroke Gripper for Large Workpieces
IAI not only has in its new portfolio a new gripping solution for small parts, but also a long-stroke gripper for lifting large workpieces. This is based on the existing RCP6-series cylinders and is designed with two oppositely moving slides. An option with an angled motor is also supplied if the workspace available makes this necessary. Like all products in this series, of course this long-stroke gripper has a battery-free absolute encoder.
This gripper can achieve stroke lengths of between 180 mm and 260 mm and maximum grab widths of up to 1,200 mm with maximum extension of the gripper jaws of up to 400 mm. Depending on spindle pitch, this new long-stroke gripper can achieve forces of between 155 N to maximum 400 N at a position repeatability of +/- 0.01 mm.
Optionally with Integrated Controller
All models in this new range of long-stroke gripper are also optionally fitted with an integrated controller, which greatly simplifies installation. This long stroke gripper is used above all for handling large plastic parts and for handling large parts in other industries, where correspondingly large grippers are required.
