Micro cylinder with only 12 mm cross section
RCD micro cylinders are ultra-compact motorized rod type actuators with a cross-section of only 12 mm and a housing length of a minimum of 60 mm.
The electric micro rod type is suitable for horizontal payloads up to 0.7 kg and vertical payloads up to 0.3 kg. It is available with 10, 20 and 30 mm stroke lengths. It achieves a speed of 300 mm/s at maximum acceleration of 1 G.
RCD micro cylinders are often used for positioning, press mounting or lifting and lowering workpieces instead of pneumatic cylinders.
The RCD micro-cylinder allows positioning of up to 3, 256 or 512 points and adjustment of acceleration and deceleration as well as thrust force, which is difficult to realize with pneumatic cylinders.
By using a precision sliding screw (Ø 3 mm, pitch 2 mm), the repeatability is ± 0.05 mm with unidirectional stroke. RCD micro cylinders are therefore also suitable for demanding positioning tasks, e.g. in optical systems, in fiber optics technology or as micro actuators in medical technology.
Despite its compactness, the RCD micro cylinder generates enough torque and a compressive force of 4.2 N through a brushless DC motor.
With the maximum acceleration/deceleration of 1 G and the maximum speed of 300 mm/s, the cylinder is used in many plants to reduce cycle time.
Matching RCD microgripper with servo drive
The 2-finger gripper has a total gripping force of 10 N with an overall height of only 22 mm. The maximum opening and closing speed is 67 mm/s with a repeat accuracy of +/-0.05 mm.
The small 2-finger microgripper is used wherever filigree products and materials are to be picked up and moved.
