Ideal for confined spaces
The space-saving mini lifting cylinders with motor and encoder replace conventional pneumatic cylinders due to their identical design and simple motion control.
They are used in confined spaces as electromechanical positioning systems for assembly fixtures or for pushing, joining, grouping, lifting, lowering, pressing and clamping workpieces. Typical applications are found in laboratory and assembly automation, in testing technology as well as in the optical and pharmaceutical industries.
In the RCP3 series with 24 V stepper motor, the mini rod types are optionally available with a sliding spindle instead of a ball screw. The mini actuators in the RCA2 series are equipped with a 24 V servo motor and the RCS2 series with a 230 V servo motor.
High-precision recirculating ball screws with accuracy class C10 and brushless 24VDC servo motors of the RCA2 mini rod types convert the rotary motion into linear stroke or pull motions with small displacement variations of max. 20 µm.
Widths - lengths - weights
Depending on the actuator width and length, the mini cylinders weigh between 170 and 280 g. They can be used for horizontal payloads up to 6 kg, vertically up to 1.5 kg.
High precision is achieved through the combination of flexible add-on components and high-resolution encoder. This makes the RCA2 actuators very well suited for demanding positioning tasks such as the adjustment of optical systems, in fiber optics technology or for micro actuators in medical technology.
Electric mini rod type actuators are sometimes available (depending on the stroke) with an additional brake unit as an option. As a result, these models differ in size and appearance from models without a brake.
