Rotary Axes with High Rigidity and Load Capacity
There are a total of 12 different types of rotary axes from the RCP2 with 24 V stepper motor and the RCS2 series with 230 V servomotor to choose from. Including horizontal and vertical designs as well as hollow shaft axes and rotary gripper.
The output axis of horizontal types has a hollow structure, so wires from devices installed along the output axis can be passed through it.
Multiple Rotation Specifications
Some models have multiple rotation specifications that allow rotations exceeding 360 degrees. There are two different specifications available, the index mode and the normal mode.
With the index mode the axis works like an index table allowing rotation with unlimited degree made from small single rotations up to 360 degrees with short stops between each of them. The normal mode works on the same principle as a linear actuator and allows free rotation between ±9999 degrees without having to stop.
RCS2 Rotary types for high-precision positioning
The accuracy and power density of the large diameter hollow rotary types RCS2-RTC offer a wide range of applications, especially in combination with the fast servo linear axes of the same RCS2 series. The model range consists of three sizes with widths of 85, 99 and 123 mm and hollow shaft diameters of 30, 40 and 54 mm, which allow flexible cable bushings.
Particularly demanding applications, such as the pulling of silicon crystals in the semiconductor industry or precise grinding and polishing applications require an extremely high transmission rate in the angular second range.
Especially the other key data predestines the RCS2-RTC rotation axes for highly dynamic and precise positioning tasks: ± 9999° rotation stroke; ± 0.005° repeatability; 1200°/s max. Speed of rotation; 25 Nm max. load torque, 800 N max. holding force.
NEW: Hollow shaft rotary type
Slim and lightweight RCP6-RTFML Rotary with large-diameter hollow shaft of ø49, suitable for combined axes, is now available. Wiring can be passed through the hollow section, reducing the design and assembly processes.
It can be used as a shaft for rotating grippers and wrist Units. Moreover, it can be combined with cartesian 3-axis and wrist unit rotational 2-axis to enable movement with 6 axes of freedom.
Rotary Chuck Unit - Rotation and Gripping
The new rotary chucks consolidate motorized rotation and gripping movement in a single unit. The rotating axis can perform multipoint positioning between 0 and 360° (one rotation). The rotational speed and acceleration/deceleration can also be set to any value.
The chuck module is small and lightweight, as a solenoid gripper is used. Furthermore, the Battery-less Absolute Encoder equipped means that home return is not required.
