Slide table actuators for applications with limited space

RoboCylinder slide table actuators combine high load capacity with very good guiding accuracy. The compact design offers extra stability and enables use even in confined spaces.
They are suitable for precise assembly applications, for positioning or for pushing movements of horizontal payloads up to 30 kg and vertical payloads up to 24 kg. The slide tables are provided with fitting holes for changing workpieces.
The linear drives are available either as directly driven compact slides with motor in extension of the longitudinal axis as well as shorter versions in which motor and axis are parallel to each other.
Special features and application examples

Electric table slides from IAI feature high acceleration, speed and positioning repeatability. Controllable via common fieldbus protocols such as EtherCAT, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, etc., they optimise automated assembly or inspection, pick-and-place, lifting, positioning and pushing applications in many industries (e.g. automotive, food, pharmaceutical or general automation applications).
The workpiece can be attached to the threaded holes on the surface of the compact slide table. With the linear recirculating ball bearing guide built into the compact cylinder, moments are absorbed in the directions of "deflection" "torsion" and "twist". With two guide blocks, the permissible dynamic moments increase up to 4.3 times in the directions "deflection" and "torsion".
Application examples:
- Clamping tasks such as clamping of a workpiece on both sides.
- Positioning tasks such as holding a workpiece with the front side of the table.
- Pushing workpieces on a conveyor belt to the side.
- Mobile vertical axis of a Cartesian system.
High-resolution battery-less absolute encoder

The latest RCP6 slide tables are equipped as standard with a battery-less absolute encoder that holds the the position information even when the power supply is turned off. A return to origin operation is not necessary when the power supply is recovered.
Since the absolute encoder does not require a battery, it also eliminates the need to provide spare batteries, keep them in stock and perform maintenance to replace them.
